The Somali Foreign Minister discusses ways of cooperation with the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation

 The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Somali Government, His Excellency Ambassador Ahmed Moalim Faki, participated in the extraordinary open meeting of the Executive Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation at the level of foreign ministers, which began on Wednesday in Jeddah.

On the sidelines of the meeting with the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Mr. Hussein Ibrahim Taha, the Somali Minister discussed ways to enhance cooperation and coordination. Faki affirmed Somalia's commitment to enhancing cooperation with the organization to strengthen its role and joint initiatives, while providing an update on political, economic, humanitarian and security developments in Somalia.

For his part, Secretary-General Taha praised the tireless efforts made by the Somali government to achieve development, stability and combat terrorism, and affirmed the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s firm support for the strategic goals and objectives of Somalia.
