Somaliland Supreme Court ratifies election results.

The Supreme Court of Somaliland has officially ratified the results of the November 13 presidential election, marking the end of nearly 15 years of Kulmi party rule.  The outgoing president, Muse Bihi Abdi, had conceded defeat and congratulated Aro after he won 64% of the vote.

The Chief Justice, Adam Haji Ali, confirmed at a press conference that the court had approved the election results, noting that Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi “Aro” and Mr. Mohamed Ali Abdi Mohamud were legally elected as president and vice president.

The Supreme Court also added that no objections or legal challenges had been filed by the opposition candidates, which facilitated the ratification of the preliminary results announced by the electoral commission.
