Somali Foreign Minister Welcomes New Sudanese Ambassador, Stresses Strengthening Bilateral Relations
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Somali Government, Ambassador Ahmed Moalim Faqi, officially received the credentials of the new Sudanese Ambassador, Abdulrahman Khalil Ahmed Abkar.
During the friendly meeting, both sides stressed the importance of strengthening the long-standing relations between Somalia and Sudan. Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation and strengthening the strong relations that will benefit both countries.
Minister Faki affirmed Somalia’s commitment to deepening bilateral relations with Sudan, praising the remarkable efforts and achievements made by the Sudanese government. He said: “Somalia is steadfast in its determination to strengthen its partnership with Sudan. Cooperation between our two countries is pivotal to regional stability and prosperity.”
In his speech, Minister Faqi expressed his best wishes to Ambassador Abkar for success in his new role and highlighted the importance of Sudan’s unity, peace and stability. He added, “We recognize the importance of a unified Sudan and support its journey towards lasting peace and stability.” The ceremony was a renewal of commitment to cooperative efforts and mutual support between the two countries, heralding a future of enhanced diplomatic relations and mutual progress.
