Chinese special envoy to the Horn of Africa visits Somalia
Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud received at the presidential palace in Mogadishu the Chinese special envoy to the Horn of Africa, Ambassador Xue Ping.According to a statement issued by the Somali presidency, the envoy conveyed a message from President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China to his Somali counterpart, Hassan Sheikh, during the talks.
The statement added that the two sides discussed ways to strengthen relations between Somalia and China on issues related to peace and security in the Horn of Africa region and the African continent as a whole.
